Jembrana — Blok Ijo Gading Timur won the final makepung race of the 2026 season, defeating Blok Ijo Gading Barat at the All In One Circuit in Pengambengan, Negara, on Nov. 1.
The final race closed a season that normally runs across 10 rounds from July through November. This year, budget efficiency in the Jembrana regency administration led organizers to combine the Bupati Cup and Jembrana Cup into a single Festival Makepung Jembrana event. The Governor Cup was not held.
Why the 2026 changes matter to visitors
For foreign residents and visitors, the result underscores that Makepung is a scheduled local competition rather than a daily attraction. Races take place across Jembrana and may use different circuits, so the specific event notice determines where spectators should go. The decisive 2026 race was held at the All In One Circuit in Desa Pengambengan, Kecamatan Negara, rather than being described simply as a race in Jembrana.
Makepung’s official calendar includes the Bupati Cup, Jembrana Cup, Governor Cup and Kapolda Cup. In 2026, the Bupati Cup and Jembrana Cup were merged into the Festival Makepung Jembrana because of budget constraints. The festival was held on Aug. 23, 2026, with 268 participants: 144 from Blok Barat and 124 from Blok Timur.
The final event itself was held as an ordinary makepung race after the Jembrana Cup was cancelled. Organizers said Makepung is expected to continue annually according to its 10-round official schedule, separate from joint training sessions.
