Blahbatuh — A joint team visited a pig farm in Banjar Blangsinga, Saba Village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar, Bali, on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, after residents complained about a strong odour.
The team included Blahbatuh Sector Police, the Gianyar Environmental Agency, Blahbatuh Civil Service Police and local village officials. The inspection began at about 9:30 a.m. WITA (UTC+8) and followed an earlier visit prompted by a similar complaint.
Officials examined the area around the farm and the channel used to remove pig manure. The Gianyar Environmental Agency recorded information and sought an explanation from the farm owner as part of its follow-up to the residents’ report.
The inspection focused on a suspected full manure tank
Officials attributed the suspected environmental nuisance to an overflowing or full septic tank used to hold livestock waste. They urged the owner to clean and empty the tank or manure holding facility, saying the work could reduce the strong smell and prevent disruption to the surrounding environment.
For residents and visitors, the episode illustrates how a local environmental complaint can bring several agencies together. The inspection was not described as a farm closure or as a finding of wider contamination; the reported response centered on waste storage, odour control and communication with nearby residents.
Kompol Luh Putu Sri Sumartini, chief of Blahbatuh Sector Police, said the complaint should be handled through communication and coordination while prioritizing the common interest. The farm owner said the full waste holding facility would be cleaned and emptied promptly.
Blahbatuh Sector Police said it hoped the follow-up would address the residents’ complaint. No further enforcement measure was reported.
