Bali — Two Bali residents have filed a police complaint over alleged Bitcoin investment fraud, reporting that around 14 Bitcoin worth an estimated Rp19 billion have become inaccessible after being purchased through the Eurobits platform, according to their legal representative and local media reports.
The complaint was submitted to Bali Police and registered under number LP/B/745/VIII/2026/SPKT/POLDABALI. The report names a Malaysian national identified as SBAH and an Indonesian citizen identified as BY as the reported parties in connection with the investment scheme.
According to coverage citing the complainants’ lawyer, the reported loss is based on an estimated 14 Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency’s market value in August 2026. The lawyer said the clients have been unable to access the assets through the platform and that the value of the alleged loss is being calculated based on current Bitcoin prices.
Alleged investment structure
Inta Amalia, a lawyer with Amilia’s International Lawfirms representing the two complainants, said the case stems from Bitcoin investments made around 2016. She stated that the investors were directed to buy Bitcoin via Eurobits Indonesia and were informed of potential returns of around 1 percent per day.
Amalia said problems arose when the Bitcoin purchased through the platform could no longer be accessed by her clients. She has asked law enforcement to examine how the investment scheme operated, how the platform was managed, and the relationship between the reported individuals and Eurobits Indonesia, as well as to trace the location and status of the digital assets.
The lawyer stressed that the complaint describes alleged criminal conduct and that the matter is being requested for handling by investigators. As of the filing date, the allegations have not been tested in court, and the reported parties have not publicly responded to the claims in the reports reviewed.
Reported figures
Key figures reported by the complainants’ lawyer:
- Reported loss: about Rp19 billion, based on August 2026 Bitcoin prices.
- Digital assets involved: approximately 14 Bitcoin.
- Initial investment period: around 2016.
- Police complaint number: LP/B/745/VIII/2026/SPKT/POLDABALI.
Possible wider impact
Amalia said the number of potential victims may be higher than the two complainants named in the Bali police report. She stated that the Eurobits investment application was introduced at seminars attended by people in Bali and that similar activities were held in other cities, including Medan, Surabaya and Semarang.
She indicated that the total number of investors and the aggregate value of potential losses have not yet been established and called on anyone who believes they were affected by the scheme to provide information to law enforcement. The lawyer also urged that the matter be handled objectively and comprehensively by investigators.
Related law enforcement attention
Separate reports on alleged investment schemes involving Eurobit or Eurobit Indonesia indicate that police cybercrime units at the national level have received information about suspected Ponzi-style activity linked to the platform and that these reports include victims in Bali. These accounts suggest that the Bali complaint forms part of a broader pattern of law enforcement attention to alleged fraudulent investment operations using cryptocurrency.
Police and prosecutors have not issued a detailed public statement on the substance of the Bali case beyond confirming receipt of the complaint in the media reports consulted. Whether Bali Police will open a formal investigation, identify suspects, or bring charges will depend on the outcome of their assessment of the evidence and the reported transactions.
