Denpasar — Universitas Udayana will move lectures, academic guidance and examinations online from Wednesday, 14 October, through Friday, 16 October 2026, while university employees work from home, under a rector’s circular issued on 13 October.

Why it matters: Students and staff at Universitas Udayana will use online arrangements and work from home from 14 to 16 October 2026 while Bali manages fuel-distribution disruptions.

The policy responds to fuel shortages and long queues at filling stations across Bali, according to Bali Post and Detik Bali. The circular, numbered B/9788/UN14/OT.01.00/2026, covers educational and teaching activities and directs faculties and the graduate school to arrange schedules, learning platforms, practical work and examinations according to their circumstances.

Rector I Ketut Sudarsana signed the circular. Bali Post reported that the measures apply for three days and may be extended or adjusted depending on developments in fuel availability on the island.

The change does not suspend academic activity. Instead, the university is shifting eligible activities online and asking administrative employees to work from home during the 14–16 October period. Activities requiring physical attendance are to be handled through arrangements set by the relevant faculties or graduate school.

Fuel queues emerged at filling stations in several parts of Bali after distribution disruptions. AFP reported that officials attributed the disruption to delays in unloading a tanker, while Pertamina said additional supplies were being delivered.

Databoks reported that Pertamina planned to deliver up to 57.9 million litres of fuel in stages from 14 to 17 October through the Manggis and Sanggaran terminals. The university’s circular allows its temporary arrangements to be revised if fuel availability changes.
