Jakarta — Bali and Nusa Tenggara recorded Indonesia’s fastest regional economic growth in the third quarter of 2026, expanding 6.08 percent year on year, according to Statistics Indonesia, known locally as Badan Pusat Statistik.

The figure was above national economic growth of 5.47 percent in the same period. Mining, manufacturing and trade were the main sources of growth in the region, while Bali made the largest provincial contribution, at 2.79 percent.

Why the 6.08 percent growth matters to Bali

The result places Bali and Nusa Tenggara ahead of Indonesia’s other major regions in the latest quarterly comparison. For foreign residents, workers and visitors, the data offers a broad measure of the economic conditions surrounding tourism, trade and local businesses across Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. It does not, by itself, indicate that every household, company or sector experienced the same pace of expansion.

The regional performance was supported by mining, manufacturing and trade, according to the reports on the Statistics Indonesia release. Those sectors cover activity beyond Bali’s visitor economy and help explain why the wider Bali–Nusa Tenggara region outpaced national growth.

Bali’s contribution to the regional growth was the largest among the provinces in the area, at 2.79 percent. The reports identify Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara as the provinces comprising the regional performance described as Bali and Nusa Tenggara.
