Negara — Polres Jembrana detained six people in three separate investigations into alleged misuse of subsidized Pertalite during October 2026, as fuel shortages affected Jembrana. The first investigation followed reports of repeated purchases at SPBU 54.822.02 on Jalan Denpasar–Gilimanuk in Gilimanuk, Melaya.
The six people were identified in reports as IA, AR, SA, DBKPP and two people identified as S. Police said the cases involved repeated purchases using multiple subsidized-fuel QR codes, the resale of Pertalite in plastic bottles and the operation of warungs using Pertamini dispensing machines.
The investigations took place in several parts of Jembrana. Police said IA was found buying Pertalite repeatedly on Oct. 6 at the Gilimanuk station with a modified Toyota Kijang containing a fuel pump. AR and SA were detained on Oct. 16 on Jalan Ratna I in Baler Bale Agung, Negara, after police found them selling Pertalite in 1.5-liter plastic bottles. Three warung owners were detained on Oct. 20 in Yeh Kuning and Air Kuning.
Why it matters to readers in Jembrana
For residents and visitors who rely on petrol stations along the Denpasar–Gilimanuk route, the case shows how shortages and queues have drawn police scrutiny to the resale and diversion of subsidized fuel. The reported conduct concerns Indonesian subsidized fuel, whose distribution is intended to serve eligible consumers rather than private resale.
Police said the six suspects face charges under Article 55 of Law No. 22 of 2001 on Oil and Gas, as amended by Law No. 6 of 2023. The reported maximum penalty is six years in prison and a category V fine. The case remains under investigation, with police coordinating with Pertamina experts for further inquiry and prosecution.
