Canggu Immigration Detains Foreign DJs and 402-Day Overstayer

Canggu — The Sept. 27 report, updated Sept. 30, identifies the residence permits held by three foreign nationals detained over suspected DJ work at a nightclub in Canggu and says a Nigerian national had overstayed by 402 days.
The report says the operation took place on Sept. 24 in Canggu, in North Kuta, Badung, during a joint military-police enforcement operation. The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office detained four foreign nationals for further examination of their immigration documents.
The three suspected of misusing their residence permits were identified by initials as MSI, an Egyptian national, and EZM and AA, Russian nationals. MSI and EZM held Visa on Arrival permits, while AA held an Investor Limited Stay Permit, known in Indonesia as an ITAS Investor. The report says they were suspected of appearing as disc jockeys at a nightclub.
The fourth detainee was identified as PGA, a Nigerian woman. Immigration officials said she had exceeded the permitted length of stay by 402 days.
